Submissions
Eldritch Myth is a speculative literary magazine dedicated to exploring the uncanny, the epic, and the arcane through original fiction and poetry. We’re seeking stories that linger in the mind, haunt the heart, and transport readers to otherworldly realms.
Submissions are currently closed! Next Submission period is January 1-31
If you submit outside the open period, we will not read your work nor send a response.
What We’re Looking For
We publish weird fiction, whether fantasy, horror, science fiction or other subgenres. Stories that are new and fresh.
Submission Requirements
Word Count:
Short Stories: 1,000–7,000 words.
Poetry: Up to 50 lines.
Originality: We only accept original, unpublished works. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but please let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.
What We Don’t Want
Erotica or stories focusing solely on romance.
Art is (for the most part) inherently political. However, we do not publish blatant propaganda or work where politics is front and center. However, if the politics is complex, fair, shows multiple sides, and leaves the reader to choose for themselves instead of forcing their own opinion upon them, we’ll consider publishing it.
Submission Format
Submit your work in a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file format.
Use 12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins.
Include a brief cover letter with your name, email, word count, and a 2–3 sentence bio.
How to Submit
Email your submissions to eldritchmyth@gmail.com with the subject line:
“Submission: [Title] – [Word Count].”
Compensation
We offer a semi-professional rate of $0.07 (Canadian Dollar) per word for fiction and $50 flat for poetry. Payment will be made through PayPal; however, if that doesn’t work for you, we’re open to discussion after acceptance.
We aspire to increase our pay rates as our subscriber base grows and our resources expand in the future.
Response Times
Authors will receive a response within a month. If you submit to us and we do not respond after two months, please contact us.
Rights
At Eldritch Myth, authors retain full copyright to their work. We request First Serial Rights for publication and a three-month exclusivity period. After that, all rights revert to you. We also request non-exclusive archival rights to keep your work in our online back issues. By submitting your work you have agreed to these terms.
Join us in crafting tales that stir the imagination and unsettle the soul. We can’t wait to read your work!
